Key Responsibilities
System Installation & Maintenance: Install, customize, and maintain IBM IMS software and related third-party products (BMC, CA/Broadcom) using SMP/E.
Performance Tuning: Monitor and tune IMS environments (DBCTL & TM) to ensure optimal response times for high-volume transactions.
High Availability: Configure and manage IMS Parallel Sysplex environments, including Data Sharing and Shared Queues.
Database Administration (DBA Level): Manage complex database structures including HALDB, DEDB (Fast Path), and Full-Function databases.
Transition & Migration: Lead IMS version upgrades and data migration activities from legacy environments to the target infrastructure.
Disaster Recovery (DR): Design and execute DR strategies, maintaining RECON datasets and ensuring RTO/RPO targets are met.

Engagement: Contract – 0.5 FTE
Project Duration: April 2026 – March 2027 (approx. 12 months)
1. ROLE OBJECTIVE
As an IMS Expert, you will lead the technical strategy for the IMS environment during a critical system transition. You are responsible for ensuring 99.99% availability of mission-critical databases, managing complex Parallel Sysplex configurations, and overseeing the migration of IMS subsystems to new hardware/software levels.
Requirement
Core Expertise: 10+ years of deep experience in IMS System Programming (IMS DB/DC).
Mainframe Tools: Expert proficiency in SMP/E, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and Assembler (for exits).
Advanced Features: Strong hands-on experience with DBRC (Database Recovery Control), HALDB, and Online Reorganization utilities.
Diagnostic Skills: Ability to analyze IMS dumps and perform root cause analysis for complex system abends.
Project Experience: Proven track record in at least 2 large-scale Mainframe migration or hardware refresh projects.
