Key Responsibilities
1️⃣ Transition Phase (Project-Based)
• Analyze current z/OS performance baseline and system utilization
• Review CPU, memory, storage, and I/O performance metrics
• Analyze SMF/RMF data and performance reports
• Identify bottlenecks and potential risks prior to migration
• Support capacity sizing for the target DXC environment
• Collaborate with DB2, IMS, ADABAS, z/OS, and Storage teams during transition
• Ensure no performance degradation during cutover
2️⃣ Operations Phase (Post-Transition Support)
• Monitor and analyze system performance in steady state
• Perform capacity planning and forecasting (monthly/quarterly)
• Provide performance trend analysis and growth projections
• Optimize workload management (WLM)
• Identify and resolve performance issues proactively
• Prepare performance and capacity reports for stakeholders
• Support continuous optimization initiatives
Qualifications
Role Summary
Location: Remote (Align to CET working hours)
Engagement: Contract – 0.5 FTE
Project Duration: April 2026 – March 2027 (approx. 12 months)

1. ROLE OBJECTIVE
We are seeking an experienced Performance & Capacity Management Specialist to support a large-scale zSystems transition project from the customer’s current environment to Client's zSystems.
This role will initially focus on performance analysis and capacity planning during the transition phase and will later move into steady-state operational support.
Requirement
• 5+ years of experience in Mainframe z/OS performance & capacity management
• Strong knowledge of:
◦ z/OS performance monitoring
◦ SMF data analysis
◦ RMF reporting
◦ Workload Manager (WLM)
◦ CPU & memory performance tuning
• Experience with capacity forecasting and workload planning
• Understanding of DB2 performance impact on system resources
• Experience working in large enterprise mainframe environments
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Ability to work independently in a global team setup
